Citing the latest buzz in the news over the many reported cases of aircraft collisions and crashes, Elder Dieter F. Uchtdorf has decided to end his retirement from aviation and go on a publicity tour to restore the global confidence in air travel once more. The German aviator, Apostle, and freelance model has long been an outspoken advocate for airplanes and air travel, frequently using them in religious allegory.
The 84-year-old pilot was seen recently wearing aviator shades and a leather flight jacket while out and about. When asked about the increase in reported plane crashes he responded, “I took this opportunity to go out and show people that flying is cool and that I still got it. I wasn’t gonna’ let a few bumps in the road ruin the image of my darling airplanes. No way I’m sittin’ this one out.”
Elder Uchtdorf’s words and confidence have inspired many in spite of the tragic stories of aerial disaster that seem to be so commonplace this year.
Ariel Byrd, 21, is excited to be able to rebook her flight to visit her former mission in Argentina, saying, “I was really worried that I would have to drive down to Argentina. I’ve been home for a full six weeks and I haven’t had a real empanada, so my new husband and I are so relieved to hear Elder Uchtdorf’s words of comfort and counsel.”
Those involved with the aerospace industry are similarly ecstatic about aviation’s #1 fan. Jet Walsh, a senior studying mechanical engineering at BYU said, “Honestly, I was so worried that all this heat on airplane companies would tank the job market and ruin my dreams of being a Boeing engineer, so I really appreciate Elder Uchtdorf stepping up here. I didn’t use ChatGPT to get A’s on all my assignments just so I could get turned away!”
