As the new year ushers in significant changes—a new president, the beginning of Gen-Beta, and, for you BYU cougs, the onset of a quarter-life crisis—it’s hard for President Russell M. Nelson to say all of these shifts are for the better. The 100-year-old leader has specifically pointed to the new TikTok ban as a major setback for his year.
“I had at least 200 drafts ready to go, and for what? We even had plans to go live with all the Brethren once we hit 100k,” President Nelson said.
“He had this idea to post dance challenges for all the new hymns rolling out. I’ve literally never seen him more disheartened,” said his wife, Sister Wendy Nelson.
“At this point, I’m prepared to go to court myself about it. Russell was the first TikTokker who ever believed in me. Nobody should be allowed to rob him like that,” said loyal follower and personal friend Addison Rae.
It remains a mystery whether the world will ever see the content President Nelson had prepared for the platform. We can only hope that, no matter the outcome, celestial thinking will continue to prevail.
