BYU freshman Ryan Smith recounted: “It was like they knew exactly what they were doing… We didn’t stand a chance. They even took out the wheels.”
The devastation, both physical and emotional, left in the wake of the locusts will not be easily healed. Firsthand witnesses to the disaster were spotted rocking back and forth and chirping like crickets.
“We’ve reached out to local seagull sanctuaries to create a more spiritually secure version of the food truck,” said Amanda Miller of BYU Dining. “In the meantime, we ask that BYU students and faculty pray earnestly for the swift recovery of both Brigham’s Wagon and its students.”
While this loss is a significant blow to campus morale—and campus safety in general—BYU Cougars remain optimistic that the Wagon will rise from the ruin, just as their ancestors did.
