The Provo bubble is about to burst.
McTayomsleigh Williamson, a 24-year old UVU graduate, has been living in Provo for the past 6 years. And while she’s made great friends and memories in this place, she is starting to feel that she is outgrowing it.
“I’m so sick of the Provo bubble. Everyone looks the same. Sounds the same. Does the same things. Believes the same things. I need something more enriching,” she explained.
In pursuit of a more enriching environment, McTaysomliegh took one last look at the Glenwood apartments and drove her U-Haul 20 minutes up the road to start a new life in a place where no one knows her name.
“I knew if I stayed in Provo, I’d always be sitting on the edge of the rest of my life. But now, here I am, up North, with nothing but an expensive lease and a dream.”
McTaysomleigh’s friends and family have shown major support for her move.
“They say if you can make it in Vineyard, you can make it anywhere,” said Macy Stacy, a supportive friend of McTaysomleigh’s.
“I’m in love with who I am here…the anonymity of this place. I can be anyone. The city buzzes with culture, diversity, history—piles of dirt everywhere…,” McTaysomleigh said.
Will McTaysomleigh make it big in Vineyard?
Perhaps only time will tell.
