Chad Brobeck, local muscle man and now mental health proponent, has changed the game for gym bros everywhere as he’s discovered a mindful way to crush the competition.
In Brobeck’s own words: “At first I thought that CAPS stood for ‘Cardio and Plank Set.’ Turns out it was a way to get gains for your brains! Instead of pre-workout, I’ve been starting the day off with a set of gratitude journaling, and then I move on to some EMOM cognitive reframing.”
“We really try to make sessions as meaningful as possible to our students, which is why we’ve implemented the ‘respect over rizz’ practice, which our gym goer participants are highly responsive to.” Says CAPS representative, Charity Gordon, “It helps them view themselves and others in a more mindful light.”
Brobeck’s example has been setting the tone for other bros, as well. Cole “Swole” Kelby says of his experience, “I used to max out at the gym just to feel something. Thanks to therapy, I’ve regained the ability to weep.”
This has truly been a groundbreaking event for Provo. It truly is stories like these that shine glimmers of hope into this ever darkening world.
