Beneath BYU’s seemingly benign campus lays an intricate network of tunnels and caverns that have, until now, been undiscovered. (Except for your unemployed friends on Tuesday afternoons, that is.)
Indeighyeanna Jensen, a 21 year old who moonlights as a freelance explorer and treasure-hunter, has made a stunning discovery deep under the Wilk, leaving students amazed and inspired.
“When I heard about the sword of Laban, my first thought was like dude the church is so true: No other church has a sword. I can’t wait to talk about how this boosted my testimony next fast Sunday.” – Greg Greyson, active again
Jensen claims she found a trove of Nephite treasures such as the Jaredite seeing stones, the Sword of Laban, and Moroni’s gold fountain pen in the tunnel network under the Wilk.
“As an archaeology major, my professors are always telling me to keep our eyes peeled for the next big breakthrough discovery. I didn’t realize it would be so nearby! I’m going to get so many extra credit points for my Book of Mormon class!”
The intrepid explorer, having just binge-watched National Treasure 1 and 2, was walking through the tunnels when she noticed something emitting a glow up ahead and found
“I saw a light and walked towards it, thinking it was like a fire escape. Turns out it was a holy relic.”
The Wilk tunnels are maybe the best kept secret at BYU and have inspired generations of students to take up lockpicking and spelunking. Who knows what other secrets lurk in the shadows?
