FSY Album Snubbed At 2024 Grammy Awards

The 66th Annual Grammy Awards were held tonight in Los Angeles, California. The 2023 For the Strength of Youth Album, I Can Do All Things Through Christ, was anticipated to win big this year, but fans were left disappointed. Album of the year went, for the fourth time, to Taylor Swift for Midnights.

“Of course we’re disappointed,” said Nik Day, a seasoned musician who collaborated with others to write and compose the songs on the 2023 Youth Album. “This collection of songs is our best yet, but it just wasn’t good enough. I guess next year we’ll have to make a better album.”

Record of the year went to Billie Eilish’s “What Was I Made For?”, unsurprising given its sweep of other award shows. Fans of “I Can Do All Things” featuring Jarica Jamison, were heartbroken to watch it walk away awardless.

“This is outrageous! The Academy has, once again, proven themselves to be rigged. Selling themselves to the highest bidder instead of actually rewarding the people who make the best music. Maybe the Weeknd was right—we won’t be submitting our music here again,” said Dallin H. Oaks.

“Once again, a deserving album passed up for hecking Taylor Swift,” said Chad Bradson, a BYU student studying finance. “First the NFL, and now this? She’s taking everything away from us. ‘I Can Do All Things Through Christ’ was straight bars.” Bradson, who’s from Kansas City, Missouri, noted that he has to root for the 49ers in the Superbowl this year “just so Taylor knows she doesn’t own me.”

Rigged or not, the Grammys are over, leaving the FSY album snubbed once again. Maybe next year the 2024 album, Disciple of Christ, has a better chance.
