Annie Gaines was in a bind. She is the Primary chorister of the Manhattan 1st Ward, but the bishop and the primary president scheduled the Primary Program for a weekend that Annie was going to be out of town.
Luckily, her brother Terrence is also musically inclined. He has a vast background in music including time as an instructor at the local Shaffer Conservatory. Annie asked him to fill in as guest chorister and even help out in the weeks leading up to the performance.
“Sister Gaines is always so nice, but Mr. Fletcher is just a meanie,” said Kaigh, a six-year-old. Fletcher said he “These kids can be great, and I know it. It would have been a disservice not to push them.”
Members of the congregation said that the primary children sounded better than ever, but were much less expressive.
