After two whole semesters of no child support from their deadbeat dad, single FHE mom Tiffaneigh Leigh of Provo YSA 12345th ward took legal action and was granted full custody of her 15 adult children. While Tiffaneigh herself would report that the court ruling was sweet, anyone who was involved in this case can attest that the litigation was sour.
“Having to get up on the stand and choose between my parents was something I wish I could forget, but I think I made the right decision,” said a traumatized Chasen Winters, adult child #12.
According to Tiffaneigh, her FHE husband Dentley never measured up to his duties as a father. Though his presence was only needed on Monday nights, his absence from those key meetings permeated the family dynamic every day of the week. Tiffaneigh was left to plan activities, assign opening prayer, and make treats all by herself.
“His behavior went against everything outlined in The Family Home Evening: A Proclamation to the World. It’s so hard to take on the roles of both nurturer and provider,” she says.
Tiffaneigh also told the Alternate Universe that in retrospect, their relationship didn’t even start from a place of teamwork or love.
“I just wonder how things would have been different if I hadn’t been forced into an arranged marriage in the first place,” she said.
All in all, Provo YSA 12345th ward FHE group #7 seems to be in a better place now that the legal dust has settled. Simon Says, adult child #4, reports that they are planning on playing Jackbox games next Monday, and he’d love to see you there.
