Harrison Potsen was in high spirits after the BYU/ Barton Quidditch Match, and returning to his dorm in Heritage Halls with his friends when he reported to hear a voice in his head. As he crossed from the Kimball tower to the Harold B. Lee Library, the voice grew louder, leading him across the campus until he and his friends came to the rubble surrounding the HFAC. It was there that they discovered, to their terror, their beloved mascot Cosmo Cougar hung by his tail with a horrified expression on his face.
Harrison “The Kid Who Survived” Potsen is one of the prime suspects as Slytherin’s heir on account that he learned Parseltongue on his mission. This sinister language has often been connected to dark magic and lame dating stories about how tricky it can be to understand the accents of hooded cobras. When Potsen was found near the scene of the crime, BYU Academic Vice President Shane Reese’s face contorted in fury and he immediately demanded that Harrison be shackled for murder of Cosmo. Only the calming, wisdom-filled words of Headmaster Kevin Worthen could tranquilize the scene, assuring all parties that Cosmo was merely petrified. He ordered all students to follow their prefects to the dormitories and to take special care that they ignore the hordes of spiders flooding out of the HFAC construction site.
Upon closer inspection, it was noted that the “horrified expression” that Cosmo’s face was frozen in resembled the face he always has on.
