Bishoprics Scramble to Install Red Carpet in time for First Official “Runway Sunday”

It’s long been established that the first Sunday of each new semester is a critical time to make good first impressions on fellow ward members. With this golden opportunity to check one another out in a socially acceptable way drawing near, the YSA 377th Stake Presidency have decided to light the fuse on Provo’s powder keg of young adult hormones by christening this day the first official “Runway Sunday”. Though YSA attendees have taken this opportunity to size up their potential companions for years, this new initiative encourages all ward members to strut into sacrament meeting wearing the crown jewels of their Sunday best attire in a way that will surely cause heads to turn and eyeballs to pop.

“We have high expectations for the righteous romances that are sure to  blossom as a result of this semester’s Runway Sunday,” said Stake Presidency First Counselor Wilford Dandruff. “The Stake hopes that the successes seen here will serve as an example for other wards around the world to implement Runway Sundays of their own.”

Local leaders were instructed to make their chapels or random classrooms with sacrament tables around campus look as extravagant as possible in order to comply with this initiative, with red carpets, streamers and velvet lane lines stretching from the pulpit to the main doors. Bishops were invited to allot each church-goer suitable time to swagger in modeling their new suits and gowns and allow ample space for them to parade around their finest apparel.

At press time it was confirmed that the choice to photograph and publish the ward’s freshest looks in the Sunday ward bulletin will be at the discretion of individual bishoprics and their wives.
