As the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints once again unfurls their Christmas campaign to “Light the World”, many holiday lovers are expected to flock to Temple Square for the opportunity to donate charitably through ingeniously designed crimson Giving Machines. This year, however, they won’t be the only vending machine spin-offs on the block.
The Community of Christ (formally known as the Reformed Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints) has announced their holiday campaign to Blight the World this December through a batch of maroon Taking Machines.
“Many who celebrate Christmas forget the glee that comes from taking something from another,” said President Howard B. Hinkson of the RLDS church. “In direct competition to the Giving Machine campaign, the donations to our Taking Machines will fund causes including snatching meals from the hungry, taking shoes from the disadvantaged, killing the livestock and contaminating the freshwater springs of the malnourished.”
With plans for locations still being released, Taking Machines can be found scattered throughout the country and abroad in locations including Independence Missouri, Kirkland Ohio, Rexburg Idaho, Davis High School, Forteleza Brazil, and at the front doors of the Vatican.
Submit your Taking Machine donations at their official website today! Happy Holidays!
