What You Missed: General Conference October 2022

Were you not a good enough saint to watch all ten hours of this past General Conference? No worries; we’ve compiled the most important moments into a handy article right here.

Bishop Causse urged members to be “stewards” of the Earth and save the environment

Bishop Causse encouraged his fellow members to be conscious of the environment in his talk ‘Our Earthly Stewardship’. “Make an effort to buy an electric car, or adopt an endangered animal.”

Elder Pino gave us a new soda recipe

In his talk ‘Let Doing Good Be Our Normal”, Elder Pino raved about the dirty soda he’d tried in Brazil, made up of chili and coconut in Dr. Pepper. Swig is already making plans to add the drink to its menu.

For the Strength of Youth Manual revised and now sponsored by VASA Fitness

President Uchtdorf announced that all guidelines in the manual had been revised to be extremely and intentionally vague. Specifics on the law of chastity were rolled back in favor of a more forward direction on the law of ‘gainz’. LDS teenagers worldwide rejoiced.

No new temples were announced

Rather than announcing a slew of new temples at the end of General Conference, the General Presidency informed members that there would be no new temple construction. They provided no reason other than “we kind of have a lot already, so this seems like a good time to stop.”

President Nelson sat on a Rod of Iron Throne

Finally, the biggest moment of the 192nd General Conference: President Nelson sat down during his talk, claiming to just need the extra support to get through his talk. His chair said otherwise, as the worldwide congregation sat enraptured while a ten-person team rolled out his Rod of Iron Throne.
