BYU Fine Arts to Offer New Program: Continuing the Legacy of Tom Hanks

In loving memory of Tom Hanks, the deans of BYU’s college of fine arts and the film department have met and decided to open a new department based on Tom Hanks’s marvelous work. Each class will be focused on a different movie and its corresponding role that Tom Hanks played.

Film student Marcus Flibberbottom remarks, “I will really miss Tom Hanks, but it is time to move on and embrace his legacy. I look forward to taking the Toy Story class.”

“Everyone is sad at the prospect of losing Tom Hanks, and that is why we are jumping ahead in remembering the work he has already done rather than anticipating the future work he will do,” says Dr. Duncan, the Dean of the Tom Hanks film program. “I hope that everyone will be able to move on from any future tragedy that may happen.”

“Everyone remembers how Tom Hanks was the first American to get covid. We all thought, ‘Why him?’ Well, now we know why. It’s to increase our understanding of the world,” says Marcus’s wife, who is transferring from civil engineering to the Tom Hanks film program. “Goodbye, Tom Hanks, we will miss you.”
