BYU Store Out of Stock Five Hours into Black Friday

On a Black Friday like no other, the BYU Store has sold all of its merchandise within five hours. The frenzy started minutes after the BYU Store opened its doors to the public with customers pouring in left and right, buying t-shirts and key chains like there was no tomorrow.

The last items to go were the chocolate-covered cinnamon bears. Tyler Bronson, a customer and Provo local, described his experience.

“I was running late this morning, and by the time I got to the store, there were only chocolate-covered cinnamon bears left! I ended up buying some because I didn’t walk up the hill to campus for nothing. I’m giving them to my sister though. You couldn’t pay me to eat them.”

Beyond just sales in the store itself, the online portion of the BYU Store has also sold out. Student and avid BYU fan Jeff Jones described his Black Friday.

“I waited until midnight and then ordered the BYU pool table off of the BYU Store website. There wasn’t even a deal on it, I just wanted to celebrate Black Friday! It’s supposed to come in 4-6 weeks. Hopefully, by then I’ll be able to move to an apartment big enough to fit it!”

BYU Store President, Mark Thomas, is ecstatic about today’s success.

“It’s time for me to go home early!”

When asked why he thought the BYU Store sold out so quickly he cited BYU’s recent victory against the U of U and the new BYU socks the Cosmo statue is sporting.
