Book of Mormon Videos Production Budget is Cut

The funds department of the church recently announced that it would be slashing the budget for the Book of Mormon videos that have been in production for the past year. Following the announcement, our team reached out to the production team to hear firsthand how this change has affected the production.

“Of course, this is terrible news for the production team,” said Peter Stevens, the assistant director of the Book of Mormon videos production. “The actors have been asked to create their own costumes, and the results have been, uh, mixed”.

Peter gestured to a group of people wearing towels over their heads and sweating profusely, seated on patio chairs.

Peter leaned in and whispered, “They like to keep it on between shoots to be authentic to the time period, but last time I checked Target didn’t sell their 5 pack of bath towels in 600 BC.”

Peter sighed. “The props department got hit the worst. Our Liahona is an intern’s phone painted yellow with Google Maps open.”

A voice then echoed across the desert campground where the production had been relocated. It came from a figure waving frantically in the distance.

“Uh, guys?”, the figure shouted, the Liahona is out of battery again. Does anyone have a charger?”
