With the reboot of Behind the Music on Paramount+, VH1 has announced the new artists that will be featured. Among them is Mack Wilberg, the director of the Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square.
The documentary will cover Mack’s journey from Price, Utah to Temple Square. Interviews will include Russell M. Nelson, Kristin Chenoweth, David Archuleta, Alex Boye, many former members of the Choir, and Lloyd D. Newell, the announcer from Music and the Spoken Word and General Conference.
Jim Forbes, long time narrator of the program, is very excited to cover the famous choir director. “We’ve covered everything from Snoop Dogg to the makeup of KISS. This will push in a way we’ve never been pushed before.”
The feature is reportedly part of VH1’s new religious outreach. In these polarizing times, VH1 execs figured the best way to unify would be through churches with complicated pasts. The next one will be about L. Ron Hubbard, who was part of writing, singing, and playing on three albums.
