Since BYU purchased Provo High in 2016, rumors have surrounded it. Many thought it would be turned into a medical school and others thought it might be used for conversion therapy. Today it was announced that the school will be turned into a paintball arena for Kevin Worthen and his friends.
The arena will consist of the entire school building and a couple of outdoor sections. “I’ve always loved paintball, and now I have the chance to make an arena that plays to my strengths.” Rumor has it Kevin’s wife, Peggy, is an even better shot than him. These claims are still unconfirmed, but the score will be settled in their next match.
The public reaction to the news has been mixed. “It’s a total waste of money. I thought they were going to use Provo High to make room for a floral design graduate program,” says junior Gunther Jameson. “I’m pumped,” says senior Kaeytlhin McMasters, adding, “I used to think Kevin was kind of a stick-in-the-mud, but I’m happy to see K-dubs go full-send.”
Kevin recounted the experience last week that caused him to make his decision. “I was walking around Provo High and saw some kids vandalizing. It’s a lucky thing I had my pieces. Anyway, I started blasting!”
