Rebranded David Archuleta Taps Into New Market With Upcoming Album ‘Zero Fricks’

Forget everything you thought you knew about the former American-Idol runner-up and LDS sweetheart. Singer-songwriter David Archuleta is rebranding for his highly anticipated alternative album Zero Fricks and tapping into a new target audience.

With a new, and some would say, unpleasant look, Archuleta sat down with the Rolling Stone to discuss his current edge and upcoming album.

“Don’t you guys see my painted nails? This is my reputation era,” said Archuleta. “I’m bearing my true testimony, and I’m done with all the bullcrap. Anyways, you guys got any CBD oil?”

Self-described “edgelord” Archuleta also teased the album’s official lineup: thirteen songs fueled with the massive angst only a teen contestant on a reality competition show could have. The Zero Fricks album is as follows:

  • “Called to Cry”
  • “Sexy and Sinless” ft. The Tabernacle Choir
  • “That Pre-Marital Love”
  • “She in My Prayers”
  • “Next Companion”
  • “Breaking My Fast, and Heart”
  • “American False Idol”
  • “Choose The Rock”
  • “Not a Phase” ft. G-Eazy
  • “Worthy Reject”
  • “Bridle No Passions”
  • “Caffeine, Love, and Other Drugs”
  • “Count Your Failings”

Archuleta says there is no official date for the album’s release but asks his new fans to stand by for updates.

“I don’t believe in deadlines anymore, they’re too fricking suffocating. I don’t know, if I delete all my Instagram pics or start posting cryptic tweets, I’ll probably release it around then.”
