This year, BYU has made it easier than ever for students to get into the Valentine’s spirit. For a limited-time only, BYU Sweet and Treats has released specialty BYU themed heart candies. Amazingly, these new BYU candy hearts have already exceeded chocolate covered cinnamon bear sales by a whopping 120%. Modeled after traditional Valentine’s conversation hearts, each package contains classic candies with romantic sayings like:
- JFSB mine
- NCMO?
- B Y You
- Eternal Comp
- It’s Mutual
- Marry me?
- Ammon luv w you
- 8 Cow Woman
- Pearl of Gr8 Price
- Squaw Peak?
- Song of Solomon 8:7
After a shortage scare last Friday night around 6pm, BYU Sweets and Treats brought in a second shipment of 2,500 packages. Even that supply may not last for long, if the line extending well beyond the Wilk Taco Bell is any indication.
“I’m just so glad I pre-ordered,” says Spencer Smith, who brags he has four mutual Valentine’s dates set up. “Finally, a non-basic way to ask for a NCMO. Thanks BYU!”
“Even though they kind of taste like antacids, they’re a great way to show your girl you care,” says Preston Vaughn, who reports he is planning on popping the question this Valentine’s Day.
The BYU Bookstore has expressed their desire to keep this kind of sales momentum throughout the year. Currently, plans for BYU themed chewy vitamins are being discussed.
