Seer stones have long been a part of church history but are generally absent from religious discussions today. That was, until a member recently recognized the spiritual stone up for sale on the popular e-commerce website Etsy- which focuses on handmade or vintage items and craft supplies.
“I was just browsing and almost didn’t believe it at first,” said Katie Norton, the member who first discovered the stone’s auction on Etsy. “I put it in my cart just in case, and then I told my parents.”
When asked why she didn’t immediately buy the stone, Norton claims she couldn’t afford the $59.99 price, which has only risen daily since the Church made their special interest known. The last known price was over $5,000.
In the context of the restored gospel, a seer stone is a stone through which a seed receives divine communication. Church records confirm that Joseph Smith used at least three seer stones, one of them already in the collection of the church, and one believed to be the stone sold on Etsy.
The newly confirmed seer stone was discovered by self-proclaimed guru Sparrow Juniper in the backwoods of her Rochester, New York home.
20-year-old Juniper agreed to give us a quote on the conditions we promote her Etsy page, Divine Dealer, and her new book, “Vibe Check: A Series of My Anti-Capitalism Wisdom” now available on Amazon and Apple Books.
“From spiritual guru to guru, I respect Russell- but it’s clearly a mental cleansing aquarius moonstone,” said Juniper. “I could feel the vibrations from a mile away. We’re twin flames.”
She is referring to President Nelson of course, as he and other leaders of the Church are currently negotiating with Juniper on the legal and financial rights of the stone.
“We’re working on it,” Church headquarters reported in their short statement on the situation.
