Brigham Young University has been undergoing several construction projects this semester, much to the dismay of all 5 students who still attend class in person.
According to a recent census, there are more construction workers than students physically on campus due to more and more classes moving online and numerous construction projects.
Allie Lochlan said that she has to “leave early for every class because I never know which routes are going to be blocked off.” She added, “there is no greater pain than walking all the way up a hill to campus just to find out you can’t enter there.”
Dan Talmage said, “Last week they started on a new patch of the sidewalk while I was in class, and I ended up being stuck in the KMBL for 3 days.” He continued, “It’s like they think that just because most people are off-campus, they can block off as much as they want.”
Talmage noted that not everything was bad, “At least I don’t have to worry about crowds of students getting in my way, so that’s nice.”
BYU spokesperson Shay Caisley said that construction is “ahead of schedule” and should be done by the end of November.
