Due to Miscommunication BYU to Play Game Against a Guy Named Troy

While many Cougar fans were excited to watch BYU take on Troy on Saturday night, a pre-game announcement from BYU AD Tom Holmoe dampened their enthusiasm. “The game between BYU and Troy University has been cancelled. It turns out we had a bit of a mix-up with our scheduling this week. We’re actually going to be playing this guy from Fresno named Troy.” said Holmoe. “We recognize that this isn’t exactly what most fans assumed would be happening, but Troy said he’ll be here in time for kickoff so we should have a good game.”

Troy Plummer, 46 is a resident of Fresno, California and he owns an air conditioning repair company. He last played football in 1990 as a member of the South Central High Fighting Acorns in Bloomington, Indiana. “I’ll admit that I was surprised when BYU called and asked if I’d come to Provo to play them at the end of September, but I promised Coach Jocko back at South Central that I would never back down from a challenge.” Plummer also noted that the monetary compensation was a significant factor in his decision to put the pads back on.

The logistics of playing 11 versus 1 have been discussed and both parties agreed to count “3-Mississippi” before rushing the quarterback. Las Vegas oddsmakers have also adjusted their lines on the game, from -14.5 BYU to -12.5 and the over/under has shifted from 52.5 to 56.5.
