BYU freshman creates ‘photo-printed’ masks to help with freshmen dating

The percent of BYU students getting married during their freshman year has dropped from 87% to 39%, due to social distancing, which has resulted in the recent creation of customized “face” masks.

To combat the fear of finishing freshman year still single, several BYU first-year students designed personalized face masks under the company Your True Looks.

“The problem was that you might see a guy with a mask on who looks cute,” said Haanah Aleigh, creator of Your True Looks, “but when he takes off his mask, he’s not! I knew I had to do something to fix it.”

Your True Looks sells several types of masks such as mesh, clear, and photo-printed. The most popular mask is the photo-printed, which has its pattern as a picture of the wearer’s lower face. Since the production of these masks, engagement announcements have increased by 62%.

“If I hadn’t created these masks, I wouldn’t be getting married next weekend!” said Haanah. “I’m just grateful I could share my talents and make sure that no one will have to be single by the end of their freshman year.”

Your True Looks has their masks available for purchase on Etsy, Amazon, and the Helaman Halls dorms. 75% of proceeds are donated to Mutual, ensuring that eternal love will be found.
