Joseph Smith Hologram’s candidacy was officially announced in a press conference earlier today. The hologram stated, “Many saints have wondered which party is correct, but all of their platforms are an abomination, and their candidates are all corrupt.”
In a time when American’s are concerned with corruption in office, and with anti-establishment candidates like Kanye West being edged out of the race, this digital prophet seems to be speaking up when people need him most.
During the rest of the conference, the hologram outlined his platform, which is essentially the same platform from Joseph Smith’s original run in 1844. Some of these proposed policies include prison abolition, presidential power to suppress mobs, and cutting Congress salaries down to $2 per day. The Joseph Smith Hologram campaign has so far been unresponsive to criticism that the wage slashing should reflect 200 years’ worth of inflation.
Political commentator Harlee Pratt had to say on the subject, “It’s actually kind of surprising how relevant a pre-Civil War platform is.” She added, “Of course, I was expecting the run, having him as a headliner for General Conference was a clear move to test the waters.”
There has been no official announcement on who the Joseph Smith Hologram will choose as his running mate. Former vice presidential candidate Sidney Rigdon was unavailable for comment.
