An email sent to all BYU students on Monday announced the delay of registration for fall semester classes. The email stated that, since the hit show “Avatar: The Last Airbender” had been recently added to Netflix, no one should be focusing on important things right now.
According to University Communications Chair Robert G. Zuko, President Worthen is a big fan of the series, and considers himself part of the water tribe. Zuko says that registration will be open once Worthen has had time to finish the show.
Students are also encouraged to binge-watch the series, if they haven’t already. This announcement seems to have disappointed some students, and pleased others.
“Where was this announcement when I was binging The Office for the eleventh time?” says business management major Ryan K. Scott.
“How can I think about what classes I’m going to take this semester when the Fire Nation is attacking? Thanks BYU! ” said chemistry major Nick L. O’Deon.
President Worthen’s office declined to comment on the announcement, except for the phrase “Yip Yip Apa”.
