BYU Alumni “Utah Jazz 2nd Unit” Claim They Poisoned Michael Jordan’s Pizza

The Last Dance documentary aired its final episodes this past weekend on ESPN and New information was brought to light surrounding Michael Jordan’s “Flu Game.” It was never the flu though; it was food poisoning.

Five former BYU students that donned themselves the “Utah Jazz 2nd Unit” were working at a Pizza Hut Internship in Park City during the summer of ’98.

“We weren’t able to get the fancier internships that were typically sought after, so we settled for anything that we could get our hands on,” said George Derrik.

The call came in from the Bulls’ hotel in Park City and the wheels started turning for these five. The students were fresh off of an intramural championship season, and they wanted the Utah Jazz to experience what they had. After just finishing their quarterly viewing of The Princess Bride the night prior, they settled on using iocane powder to give Jordan food poisoning.

“We didn’t have enough time to get any iocane powder though, so we settled for some extra baking powder,” said Todd Bradley.

These five BYU alumni were shocked that Michael Jordan went on to help the Chicago Bulls win 90-88. They vowed to never speak of their shortcomings again, but after the truth was revealed on the documentary this past Sunday Night, they thought it would be best to step forward. They are open for book deals and are hoping to have a documentary focusing on them some day.
