President Worthen Mows Lawn for 4th Time This Week

With the virtual Spring term well underway and nothing to do but look out his window, sources confirm that President Kevin J. Worthen has become fixated on the state of his lawn. Neighbors have spotted him combing bushes with a hairbrush and report that he is at this very moment getting out the lawnmower to go over his front yard for the fourth time this week.

“It is amazing.” says long-time neighbor Suzan Lopez, “I have watched Kevin mow the entirety of his lawn twice this morning. When he finished the second time, he looked upset, mumbled something about BYU’s landscaping awards and then made a phone call. An hour later I could hear the lawnmower going again.”

The mailman was also surprised at President Worthen’s behavior. Two days ago he had an awkward run-in with BYU’s President while dropping off a dozen packages express shipped from “Garden Warehouse.”

“I was trying not to snoop, but it sounded like he was introducing a devotional speaker to a newly planted flower bed.” Arnold Fryer explained.

Although President Worthen declined to comment on his eccentric lawn projects, recent photos of the Worthen household show a robed Worthen handing out diplomas to a line of garden gnomes. In the interest of everyone’s health and safety, experts from CAPS hope the university will open up again soon.
