Last week BYU placed an order for $10,000 worth of Jimmy Johns’ lunch boxes to hand out to children and families in the Provo area. This was a great attempt at a charitable effort that fell short when the Jimmy Johns employees were given a fake $100 bill as a tip. This left many workers confused and frustrated.
“Not only is the tip only 1% of the order, it had to then be a bill that was for motion picture use only,” stated a Jimmy Johns employee that wished to remain anonymous.
The employees that we were in contact with tell us that three of their locations had to come together to completely fill the order. Workers even had to come in after hours in order to make enough bread for all the sandwiches they needed. It seems that even Benjamin Franklin is questioning the morals of the tip that was offered.
