Early Thursday morning around 1:30 AM BYU President Kevin J Worthen was seen in the nearly empty karaoke club, Heart & Seoul on Center Street.
According to witnesses, President Worthen entered the establishment at approximately 10:00 PM on Wednesday night and stayed until the club closed at 2:00 AM. While there President Worthen reportedly sang “Wanted Dead or Alive” by Bon Jovi followed by “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun” by Cyndi Lauper and “Africa” by Toto.
“He comes in every now and then.” says Provo karaoke aficionado James Pollock ” He says it’s a good way to blow off steam after a long day.” This is reportedly the twentieth visit that President Worthen has made to the karaoke club since being made President of BYU. “It reminds me of when Jeffery Holland used to come by back in the day.” says club owner Shelley Kim “He used to always do “Take On Me” by A-ha and “My Way” by Frank Sinatra.”
President Worthen’s spokesman declined to comment when asked about the reports, but the muffled sounds of a man singing along to “My Heart Will Go On” by Celine Dion were heard from President Worthen’s office.
