At this year’s Consumer Electronics Show (CES) the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints unveiled a powerful new app designed to help drivers “choose the right.” LDS Maps is a groundbreaking innovation in navigation technology that aims to ultimately land each and every user at the gates of the Celestial Kingdom.
“There are a lot of navigation apps on the market today – but only one is concerned about your eternal salvation.” Explains Church spokesperson Richard Parker.
In addition to helping drivers make it to their destination using only right turns, LDS Maps ensures that every trip includes passing by one or more temples. Speed is also carefully monitored, with the app automatically scheduling an appointment with a user’s bishop if anthing unlawful is detected. During the last week of every month, the righteously programmed software makes an extra effort to drive members past the houses of those to whom they are assigned to minister.
“I have to admit that when I first started using the app, I was confused by the routes it gave me” comments one Elders’ Quorum President who is testing the app before rolling it out to his quorum, “Then one day I realized that LDS Maps was just trying to keep me on the straightest, most narrowest paths it could find.”
Although testers of LDS Maps have already claimed feeling, on average, “more righteous” than before, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is postponing a general release of the app until some bugs are worked out. Users have thus far been unable to get reliable directions to any store that sells alcohol and are harped constantly to pick up people on the side of the road.
Once the app is complete, the Church’s software development team is excited to move on to their next project: LDS Learning Suite, a course management tool that is said to function “at all times, in all things, and in all places.”
