Despite initial buzz surrounding the recently announced ‘Real Housewives of Salt Lake City’ show, Bravo TV has decided to drop the project altogether. Following a ‘very wholesome’ and ‘drama-free’ week of shooting, the disappointed film crew abruptly packed up and went back to California. PBS Kids has since floated an offer to acquire the series.
“We followed these moms around Salt Lake all week dropping off casseroles, writing thoughtful notes, and loving their kids.” Executive Producer Andy Cohen explained with disgust from his office in San Francisco, “We were expecting fireworks on Sunday when all our housewives were together in one room for an hour… they just talked about ‘charity’ and hugged.”
Andy went on to explain that none of their attempts to stir up drama produced any usable content. “We spread rumors, hacked social media accounts, ran over dogs… We got nothing. Absolutely nothing.”
The final straw came Saturday morning. The housewives met up to research their ancestors and then carpooled together down to St. George, where they spent the rest of the day in a Mormon castle. The camera crew was cool with not being righteous enough to enter, but when the wine tasting they had arranged was politely turned down by all cast members, the director had had enough.
Although the show has officially been cancelled, the week of filming won’t go to waste. Sources have confirmed that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is in talks to purchase the week of footage for use in future Mormon Messages.
Yuck!!
