Provo Freedom Festival Parade Cancelled to Avoid Conflict with Stranger Things Season 3

Organizers of the annual 4th of July Freedom Festival had an embarrassing moment this morning when they realized they had scheduled the parade on the exact same day as the Stranger Things season 3 release. To save face, they’ve decided to call the whole thing off.

“Look, I love parades as much as the next guy.” Parade planner Katie Nope explained, “But everybody just head home! There’s even a Mormon girl in the first episode of this new season.”

Organizers began to realize something was off when families who had camped out for days in anticipation of the parade began packing up.

“I can’t believe we almost missed the Stranger Things release for a few floats and free candy.” One disgruntled parade camper mumbled while packing up foldable chairs.

The parade may be the only event officially cancelled, but other festivities aren’t off the hook yet. Depending on how fast Keith Urban can binge watch the season from his hotel room, the Stadium of Fire may be called off too.
