In their weekly staff meeting Wednesday, writers for the BYU Alternate Universe website grappled with the complicated issue of maintaining a page on their site dedicated entirely to sports articles. Concerns began to arise just several weeks after the website’s launch, as chief editor Warren Dusenberry noticed that not a single article had been written to fit in the “sports” category.
Warren’s attempts to inspire the writers were met by averted gazes. “Come on. You guys have a lot of material to work with here. There’s like a sports game several times each week. BYU students love their sports.”
After several minutes of awkward silence, it was clearly time to move on to other subjects that caught the interest of the writers more.
“Well, I don’t really care what it is, just someone write something up and put it on the page so sports fans aren’t disappointed.”
Carl, dutiful AltUniverse secretary under the duress of unathletic writers, has reportedly since abridged and changed the style of the meeting minutes and posted them online.
