BYU is kicking pride month off right with everyone’s favorite kitty-loving-kitty.
Cosma, who made headlines when she debuted on International Women’s day, has not made a public appearance since. This trend is likely to continue, as Ed Bennett, official Cosma spokesperson, clarified, “she’s not the type of gay who makes it a whole thing.”
Bennett says that “Cosma is the perfect example of what a same-sex attracted student should be, quiet, celibate, and willing to have their personal life heavily scrutinized.”
The student response to the announcement was divided. Twitter user @this_is_the_ethnoplace said, “Just another example of BYU pushing the liberal agenda.”
User @BYUBarb said, “Just more proof that BYU will never actually catch up with the times.”
There was some speculation about what exactly “same-sex attracted” means in Cosma’s case.
Student Mason Reed said he is “glad” that Cosma is not attracted to men, because he still believes she is “nightmare fuel.”
Mckayleigh Lynn is not so sure that’s the case. “She could be bi, it’s 2021 people can be bi now,” Lynn said. “As long as she, you know, only ever acts on her attraction to men.”
Cosma was unavailable for comment, as she does not speak.
