After a slew of changes made in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints has announced that all Sunday Services will be held via the popular Nintendo video game “Animal Crossing: New Horizons”.
“It just seemed like the perfect venue for our young single adults,” said presiding Bishop Fisher E. Mann.
According to Mann, the services will be held by the beach in the town of the bishop of the local congregation. Talks and lessons will be given through the chat feature of the Nintendo Online App.
Following services, young single adults will be able to socialize, catch fish and bugs, chop down trees, and dig holes. Attendees will be discouraged from shopping at Nook’s Cranny, in efforts to keep the Sabbath Day Holy.
“We feel that this will be the most effective way to get young single adults to feel the Spirit and meet each other,” said Bishop Mann.
Young Single Adults who are members of the Church will be contacted by their bishop in regards to meeting times, and are encouraged to bring fruit.
